Celebrating 27 years in business, Archie's is a tradition for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Located close to the University of Nevada Reno, it's popular with hungry students and faculty and offers student discounts. Those who know about it don't talk about it because they want to preserve the ambiance of the place, even more so since the recent renovation. The interior is warm, with dark and cozy accents, and the dining area is intimate and lively. Private dining suites are available for special events and get-togethers for both lunch and dinner. The food matches the atmosphere and could be classified as contemporary American. Opened in 1980 by Viennese pastry chef Josef Pasa, this bakery has grown to become one of Reno's premier bakeries with its own full-service cafe. The bakery is famous for its fine pasties, morning buns, cookies, pies, breads and more. They also make wedding, specialty party cakes and petit fours and have gluten-free, sugar-free, nut-free and dairy-free options for those with food allergies. The cafe serves breakfast and lunch seven days a week. Coffee and tea, French toast and waffles, crepes, Benedicts, omelettes and more are favorites in the morning, while soups, salads, deli sandwiches, chicken Schnitzel, German bratwurst, chicken pot pie, crepes and much more are favorites for lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. Their new second location, in Arlington Gardens Mall, offers all of their original favorites plus the addition of a dedicated gluten-free bakery.

With two locations in Reno and one in Sparks, Piñon Bottle Co., “Nevada’s beer authority,” is a bottle shop and beer bar that encourages curiosity and discovery of craft beers. The Sparks location serves delicious wood-fired pizzas, charcuterie boards and an array of small plates. The Midtown Reno location is next to Noble Pie, and Piñon customers are welcome to bring their food into the bar. The South Reno location has food truck pop-ups every Friday and Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. and every Sunday afternoon. Piñon offers a full spectrum of beer styles, traditions, regions and flavors poured from an ever-changing selection of bottles, cans and taps. Their Cicerone-certified bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations if you're overwhelmed by the choices. From well-known brews to small-batch craft beer to specialty wine and ciders, they have something for every palate. Reno's Midtown District is a success story in itself.
