Slieve Brewing Co. in Reno is a family owned and operated brewery where they stay true to their Western European roots when it comes to brewing quality beer. The leader of the pack, Philip Mountain, started his beer career with a homebrewing kit about 10 years ago and won numerous awards at competitions throughout the years. Mountain has come a long way since then. His family relocated to Reno in 2020 where they opened up Slieve Brewing Company — Slieve means “A Mountain” in Irish Gaelic, their family roots. Slieve is a small-batch operation that produces a barrel or two a week. All of the recipes are formulated in-house by the head brewer which consists of many different styles and variations that will satisfy every type of beer lover.
