NNBA Annual Meeting & Potluck!

This Event has no scheduled dates at this time. It last occurred on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
Northern Nevada Bluegrass Association, NNBA Annual Meeting & Potluck!
Event Description:

YUMM!! Everybody loves a potluck. Especially a Potluck with jamming!

As a non-profit, all volunteer organization, we elect a volunteer Board of Directors each year. We recommend all NNBA members take at least a one-year turn on the Board, as a way to keep our organization fresh and inspired. The election takes place at this Annual Meeting, though the nomination process is open now.

What qualifications do you need to be on the NNBA Board? Mostly, just bring whatever strengths you have, or skills you've learned in your professional life or in school. An appreciation of Bluegrass music is important, but you don't need to be a player. People with organizational skills, computer skills, mechanical skills, accounting skills, leadership skills, decision-making and listening skills are all welcome. The Board makes important financial and action-oriented decisions for NNBA, organizes events and then martials the resources to put the events on. It's actually pretty fun to be a part of something that brings music and social activities to our community. The Board meets once a month, so it's not a huge time committment (except for August, when we put on the Bowers Bluegrass Festival).
