Alpinistas Adventures is the only female-led, female operated guide service in the Sierra Nevada comprehensively serving backpacking, mountaineering, backcountry & rock climbing disciplines for women.
Joanne Bienskie founded Alpinistas in 2021 in Reno, Nevada with a desire to encourage and inspire women to get outside and explore whether that be through a female-centric shopping experience, women’s only outdoor education and recreation, or by giving back to support outdoor programs for girls. From her own city life to mountain life experience, she knows first-hand how this can be possible for any woman. WFR, CPR/AED, AIARE, Mountaineering & Crevasse Rescue, (Prior) Mono County Search & Rescue. Extensive big mountain experience in the Eastern Sierra with speciality in splitboard mountaineering.
Officially guiding in Yosemite National Park, Tahoe National Forest, the Sierra Nevada & Lassen National Park, plus international destinations.
In 2023, Alpinistas was recognized with two separate awards: the BigCommerce Emerging Brand Customer award and an Outdoor Retailer Inspiration award.
