Botanical Bandanas: An Intro to Cyanotype Printing

Wandering Wyld, Botanical Bandanas: An Intro to Cyanotype Printing
Event Description:

In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll discover the art of sun printing using botanicals and found objects to create stunning blue-and-white designs. You'll learn about the history of cyanotype art, essential techniques to get started, and best practices for sourcing and foraging natural materials

During this workshop, we’ll start by learning to treat provided paper with cyanotype solutions then you’ll dive in to making your own pieces on different types of pre-treated paper and fabric and end the class by making your very own bandana to take home to wear or turn into a wall hanging. A variety of pressed flowers and objects will be available to use but feel free to bring your own pressed flowers or special mementos if you’d like to experiment with those.

Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a budding artist, or simply curious, this workshop offers a unique way to connect with creativity and the natural world. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of cyanotype printing, finished artwork, and a botanical sun-printing kit so you're equipped to keep exploring your new creative outlet.
