Nnic's 25th Annual Global Gala: Silver Celebrations
Northern Nevada International Center (NNIC) Annual Global Gala will be celebrating 25 years of operation.
The Annual Global Gala: Silver Celebrations will acknowledge the work of the nonprofit in its three primary pillars of service: refugee resettlement, international exchanges and the Language Bank. Additionally, this year the nonprofit will be recognizing 25 early champions and consistent supporters to the organizations: NNIC Luminaries. These individuals have contributed significantly to the growth and success of the organization from its early days to present operations.
Attendees will hear from distinguished speakers, including University of Nevada, Reno President and former Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, and help honor a collection of 25 Luminaries, a distinction for those individuals, groups and companies who have helped the organization grow and evolve over the years. Luminaries to be acknowledged include select former and current board members and presidents, Shayne Del Cohen, Claudia Ortega-Lukass, Amy Ginder, Jim Proctor, Alison Gaulden, APR, home hosts and volunteers Gretchen Hendi, Anita Bevans, and Steve and Nancy Casper. Professional partners to be acknowledged as Luminaries include Tiffany Young, Jim Liu, Dr. Pavlatis, Tarek Hadjoudj, Deborah Loesch-Griffin, the faculty of the School of Journalism at the University, the faculty of the College of Business at the University, the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC), Northern Nevada HOPES, Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, and the National Judicial College. Additional Luminaries to be honored for their substantial contributions to the organization include University president and former Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, former mayor Jeff Griffin, Sandy Raffaelli, the City of Reno, and the Northern Nevada Literacy Council.
Northern Nevada International Center works to cultivate deeper understanding of peoples through public diplomacy programs, cultural projects and international exchanges. Additionally, NNIC’s Language Bank helps hundreds of clients, assisting individuals, businesses and organizations with their translation and interpretation needs and language accessibility through translation and interpretation services.
