A Midsummer Night's Dream - The Ballet
This season Sierra Nevada Ballet is thrilled to present our all new Steampunk version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream featuring guest artists from Joffrey Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem, Sacramento Ballet, as well as our own SNB company dancers. The ballet will feature elaborate costume and makeup to dazzle the eye as well as interactive sets designed by Reno Little Theater’s own Chad Sweet!
In this production, we strive to blend the old and the new and truly ignite the fantasy of the audience. The musical score for the ballet will feature the traditional Mendelssohn music blended with the music of Martin Denny and Les Baxter, the original pioneers of the musical genre known as exotica, which features hypnotic tropical sounds to whisk the listener away to a magical enchanted forest full of mystery, wonder, and fairies!!
