Reno Dance Festival
The Reno Dance Festival, an event organized by volunteers and in partnership with arts advocacy nonprofit Sierra Arts Foundation, is hosting its third annual event on June 1 to celebrate dance in the region with workshops and live performances. The Reno Dance Festival features workshops and live performances, running from 12:00 p.m. on Saturday June 1 into the evening’s performances at the Glow Plaza.
Attendees can participate in up to four different workshops instructed by local professional dance instructors including classical ballet with Patti Casey, hip hop with Brandon Dabu, contemporary phrase work with Maggie Stack and contact improvisation with Erica Wilson.
Starting at 7:00 p.m. live performances will feature the work of local choreographers and showcase more than 50 accomplished dancers. Proceeds will go back to those dancers participating in the event.
Featured choreographers include Andrew Paiz, Brandon Dabu, Corinne Undercoffer, Erica McBride, Salvador Medina, Tiffanie Moreno, Erica Wilson, Keely Cobb, Kimberly Yuke, Lane Saunders, Marla Pauley, Melissa Ennis, Nina Drobushev, Ozora Cheek, Sara Eastman and Tyrell Rolle.
