Reno Retro Canteen
Reno Retro Canteen is a tribute to the old time USO shows of the past 65 years.
RRC will showcase local Reno talent and veterans in a fun all ages show for Artown 2017. Two shows will take place at the McKinley Arts Center in downtown Reno on July 2.
This 60-minute show will take the viewer back in time to the USO shows of the 40s and 50s. Fully costumed, the show will feature the Retro Radio Dolls as the Andrew Sisters/Judy Garland/Marilyn Monroe and Doris Day characters. Two male singer/actors will portray the Bob Hope/ Bing Crosby characters in both song and dance. Four dancers will round out the program with dance numbers A female comedian is also included.
Lastly, a finale of "America the Beautiful" will include our local veterans in a spectacular patriotic ending. Reno Retro Canteen will focus on our men and women in the armed services with song, dance, comedy and nostalgia. RRD has partnered with the Northern Nevada Veterans Resource Center and will donate all concession sales and ask for donations during the show.
We will also give veterans preferred seating.
