There used to be a casino in downtown Reno called Fitzgerald's, and embedded into the outer wall of that building that faces Virginia Street is a large chunk of rock. The plaque that accompanies it proclaims it to be a piece of the famed Irish Blarney Stone and urges passers-by to rub it for luck. Well, Fitzgerald's is gone, but the stone remains, and even though the legend of this particular rock has been deemed to be less than legitimate, it still makes for a fun Reno tradition. And who couldn't use a little extra luck?
