Right at the spot where the Truckee River hits the downtown area of Reno, the city has installed a whitewater kayak park. It is designed to be fun for kayakers of all ability levels, and the half-mile course includes two different channels with Class II and Class III rapids, boulder obstacles and walkways that provide great viewing sites for observers. In addition to kayakers, it is not unusual to see canoes and even inner tubes shooting the rapids in the warmer months.
