This county park was originally a working ranch, and the land was bought in 1979 for use as a public recreation area. It is a large section of land with some 600 acres of pasture and natural high desert terrain, along with about 25 acres of maintained lawn. Amenities of this park include walking trails, volleyball courts, picnic areas, playgrounds, recreation fields, horseshoe pits and gardens. Available activities also include hiking, jogging, fishing, birding and biking. This is also the site of one of Reno's best dog parks.
